Kendall V. Lynch, CPA

PhD Candidate

Michigan Ross

My name is Kendall Verbeek Lynch, and I am a fifth-year PhD Candidate at Michigan Ross. I will be on the 2023-2024 academic job market, with an expected graduation date of May 2024.

Broadly, I am interested in how corporate governance structures develop and how these structures influence firm behavior. My research focuses on how regulatory and enforcement agencies shape firm governance, as well as how a firm's compliance structure shapes operational decisions. I am also interested in the role of accounting standards in determining firm behavior.

My job market paper explores how the enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act influences firms' propensity to engage in risk-taking behavior and the role compliance programs play in firm decision-making.
