Kendall V. Lynch, CPA

PhD Candidate

Michigan Ross

My name is Kendall Verbeek Lynch, and I am a fifth-year PhD Candidate at Michigan Ross. I will be on the 2023-2024 academic job market, with an expected graduation date of May 2024.

Broadly, I am interested in how corporate governance structures develop and how these structures influence firm behavior. My research focuses on how regulatory and enforcement agencies shape firm governance, as well as how a firm's compliance structure shapes operational decisions. I am also interested in the role of accounting standards in determining firm behavior.

My job market paper explores how the Department of Justice's self-reporting policy for the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act influences firms' choice of cross-border investment and the role uncertainty regarding potential misconduct plays in firm decision-making.
